BioSynthesis is the creation of audio-visual artists Marian Saunders and Cat Jones who share a curiosity about the interconnections between art, nature, science, and technology. Their unique live audio-visual performances explore the synergy between organic biosonic sound and live projections. Biosonic sound is created from micro-current fluctuations within organic and plant matter captured through sensory play and interpreted through a modular synthesiser. Live visual projections respond to the sound with organic, expressive cosmic imagery. A hybrid of analogue and digital media forms the basis for audio and visual elements which draw out the contrasts between nature and technology, macro and micro, sound and image. Surrounded by plants and hypnotic sounds with ever-evolving abstract projections connects us to a new way of experiencing nature and its imperceptible rhythms and patterns. Lost to time and self, the ever changing, never repeating sounds and visuals captivate and expand the mind in an experience alien to any other.
